Caught Up

Okay, I worked hard and finally finished posting for July and August. So make sure you go back and view what we've been doing. It is a lot, you have to go to older posts as well. Sorry. Thanks for reading!

Material/Cereal Girl

I was driving in the car with the three youngest one day and the song "Material Girl" by Madonna was playing on the radio. When the song ended Meghan asked, "Was she singing about the Cereal Girl?" It was a classic comment from Meghan because she is our cereal girl and would eat it every day, all day if we allowed.

Happy 1st Birthday Benjamin

We can't believe that on August 21st, Benjamin turned one year old. This year flew by as we look back. There were moments we thought we would not get to this point in the early months, but it sure has gone fast. Benjamin is loved by his family so much. His siblings adore him, sometimes a little too much, but he continues to thrive on their attention. We are so glad he is with us each and everyday. He is a fast little boy and sure is trying to get places quickly. Little Vern is very anxious for him to get bigger so he has a partner in crime. They are already wrestling and Benjamin fights back.
Aiden, Isabella and Meghan at his birthday party!
Kids on the trampoline at the party...they would make a huddle and then start jumping...too cute!
Benjamin had no trouble eating his 1st Birthday cake!
"Would you like some?"

Elena's Golden Chef Birthday Party

On August 8th, Elena had her 8th birthday party with friends from school, church and cousins. The kids were having a cooking preperation party.

Once they arrived they got their chef hats and aprons.

Then they were split into groups.

One group decorated cupcakes,

one made smoothies,
one made a fruit pizza

and the last group made a snack mix.

Each group had 20 minutes to prepare the food to be presented to our guest celebrity judges. I believe they had fun as the worked hard on their masterpieces. They each recieved an award for their creations and then they all ate. I think they had fun. I learned that 10 eight year olds can get pretty noisy and chatty, but a lot of fun!

First Day of School at Corte Sierra

On August 3, 2009 Elena turned 8 years old and she and Natalie began school at Corte Sierra Elementary in the Litchfield Elementary School District.

The girls were ready for school to begin.

Elena is in 3rd grade with Mrs. Schlag as her teacher. She excited to be with so many friends from Kinder and 1st grade.

Natalie is in Kindergarten with Ms. Paulson as her teacher. She is excited to have so many friends from church in her class and to be able to ride the bus with Elena.

They got home, hot because it was 100 degrees +, but they had a fun first day of school! Wahoo!
